Who are Personal assistants and PA users?

At EYJA we use the terms Personal assistants (PA) and PA users to describe the people who will benefit from using our service.

Who is Personal assistant (PA)?

PA stands for personal assistant. At EYJA we consider a Personal assistant as someone providing assistance – from helping with day-to-day tasks through to providing live-in care – to an individual who needs support. This means we class a PA as not just as personal assistants, but also carers, caregivers and private nurses. If you consider yourself as any of these, then we invite you to register on EYJA as a Personal assistant.

Who is PA user?

EYJA’s main focus is connecting disabled people with personal assistants, but anyone who needs personal assistance or care – such as the elderly, terminally or mentally ill – qualifies as a PA user and can therefore register as such on our system.

We often call our PA users ‘employers’, as EYJA’s goal is to allow PA users to find and hire a PA directly, without the need to pay for a third party supplier.
